************

This Thursday, January 31, over 1,000 of the world's corporate leaders, along with top political and media representatives, will gather here in New York City for five days of closed-door meetings of the World Economic Forum. Meanwhile, thousands of students, union members and global justice activists from across the US and many other countries will converge -- both here and in Porto Alegre, Brazil -- to raise their voices against this gathering of the rich to further their agenda of worker exploitation, natural resource seizure, and environmental degradation. There will be counter-summits, teach-ins, marches, rallies, and direct action -- and an expected strong response from the NYPD.

WBAI will be collaborating with WBIX.org, the Independent Media Center, Free Speech Radio News and Democracy Now! for this week of activities. Tune in to special extended coverage on listener-sponsored WBAI as we bring you the diverse voices, issues, discussions and street actions surrounding this epic event. That will be this Thursday and Friday from 9 am to noon and 3 to 5pm and Saturday from noon to 6pm.

We hope you'll join us to hear how ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE!
