We the undersigned listeners and staff of WBAI wish to register our emphatic support for the following provisions in the Pacifica bylaws:
(1) At least 50% of local station board members shall be people of color; at least 50% of local station board members shall be women. Every effort should be made to elect board members who are pro- Mission activists from the disabled, youth, peace, social justice, environmental, artistic, labor, LGBT, and other Pacifica communities.
(2) Local station board members shall be elected by people who have shown a commitment to the Pacifica mission as listener-donors, listener-volunteers and station staff.
(3) Pacifica is a diverse family united in support of the Pacifica mission. All listener-donors and volunteers should vote together as a unified membership and should NOT be divided into separate categories according to racial, ethnic or other identity criteria, and should NOT be forced to vote for separate candidates according to those criteria.
